Peregrine Wing
Welcome to the Peregrine Wing! Peregrine students are identified by their navy polos, but what IS a peregrine, exactly?

A peregrine is a type of falcon, and it is one amazing bird. Falconers (people who train and use falcons to hunt) prefer the peregrine because of its spectacular high-speed dives. These powerful birds can reach speeds of up to 200 mph or more as they dive for their prey.

The scientific name comes from the Latin words falco (hook-shaped) and peregrinus (to wander).

The peregrine falcon can be found on every continent except Antarctica and lives in a wide variety of habitats, including deserts, tropics, and tundra.

The falcon that represents the Peregrine wing is unique and extraordinary -- just like our students.
Announcements
It's In the Mail
Parents and guardians:

Report cards for fall semester are being mailed home this week. These report cards include the final grade for any block (semester-long) class your child may have had. A passing grade indicates the student has earned the credit for that class. Report cards also are a "progress report" for any year-long class the student is in. Because this class does not end until May, the grade reflected on the report card is not the final grade; it is merely a snapshot of where your child stands academically in that class.

Please be on the lookout for your student report cards. If you do not receive one, please contact your child's small learning community via phone or e-mail. Guidance counselors and teachers can assist you in getting a report card.

The Nest
At the end of each grading period your student will receive a progress report. If that progress report had an "F" in any core subject, your student will be palced in "The Nest" for the next three weeks. The Nest is a place for your student to catch up on any missing assignments and fill in gaps in learning from the first three weeks.

The Nest will take place during the normal school day from 11:45 - 12:45. Therefore, no special transportation needs to be arranged.

This is a great opportunity for your student to get the extra help that is needed. If you have any questions about the Nest or its purpose, please contact any one of the staff members for the Peregrine Wing. We will be happy to address your concerns.
Top 10 Ways to be Successful at Fulton High School

1)     Come to school.

All your classes are important.  Strive to be at school from 8:25am - 4:00pm.

2)     Be on time to classes.

We teach from bell to bell, so your attendance during the whole class is vital to your success.

3)    Follow expectations.

Be in professional attire at all times.  Follow classroom expectations.

4)    Take responsibility for your education.

Your educational success depends on your choices.

5)    Be organized.

Organization may not seem important, but this skill will serve you well at Fulton and beyond.

6)    Learn how to study.

We will help you develop your toolbox of study skills.

7)    Be a problem solver.

As you learn to take responsibility for your education, your ability to solve problems will increase.

8)    Treat others the way you want to be treated.

It seems obvious, yet is often forgotten.

9)    Technology is a tool, not a weapon.

As members of the 21st century, we must learn how to use technology to grow ourselves rather than harm others.

10)   Get involved.
The more a person is involved, the more he or she will be invested in the overall process.

These ten items may seem obvious, yet each one is overlooked in the day in and day out survival of high school.  Students, focus on achieving these daily.  Parents/guardians, remind your students of the importance of each of these.
